Sized honestly
Most families don't need a new, expensive server. A lot can be done with a $500 server from 2013: a solid business machine with room for drives streams to a whole household without trouble.
You'll only get a bigger spec if you need one, for example several people watching 4K at once away from home, or a very large library. We'll ask how you watch before we recommend anything.
Plex or Jellyfin?
Plex has polished apps on nearly every TV, phone and streaming stick. Some features need a paid Plex Pass. Jellyfin is completely free and open source, and everything stays in your house. We set up either one and help you choose.
